Gackt, a photo gallery

So I've posted music videos (also known as PV, promotional videos), and videos I've found on the web which show case Gackt's public image. Based on everything I've seen, his fans view him as a jack-of-all trades, meaning his is extremely talented in a wide variety of activities. They love his music because not only does it sound nice to the ear, it is filled with his emotions, feelings and drama. His fans also love him for the "cute" things that he does like dancing on stage with cats, or wearing a cat suit, or almost falling out of his chair during a TV show, or whatever, while still maintaining that shyness and straight-faced demeanor. That cuteness about Gackt makes him human, and I think that's why he has such a following. Gackt is a celebrity, and almost God-like to his fans, so he seems untouchable; however all the cute things he does, his shy boy-like innocence makes him human, and that's why the fans love.

But the most obvious thing about Gackt is his looks. They are quite unique; very feminine, but not completely. I don't think his fans care how much surgery he's gone through to acheive his looks (unlike here, where we freak out, and celebrities are embarassed or hide and deny that they had surgery). We in the West prefer a distinct difference between masculinity and femininity, however to them god-damn Japanese, they prefer the androgynous, at least the newer generations do. But what the hell, them fuckin' Japanese make some of the best of everything in the world, so I guess they can do and believe whatever the fuck they want. :) Gackt-san's voice is also quite distinct. He reminds me of D and Meier Link in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. His voice is very calm, low and almost sad. I don't know too many Asian guys who have low voices.

What keeps his fans coming back is his mystique. He only says what he has to. His facial expressions are quite emotionless for the most part, and the sunglasses shade the emotion his eyes show. A brilliant strategy for marketing. He certainly does carry much charisma. So here are some photos of Gackt-san which I have found on the web.
