Somethings in life you really shouldn't skimp like Lasik or cancer treatment but jewelry, definitely. It's absolutely crazy to spend hundreds of dollars on real jewelry when you can buy fake and get away with it. Princess Di and Jacki O are prime examples. Princess Di loved wearing costume jewelry and getting a kick out of it when the media report they're real. Jackie O they say was the same way. In fact that famous pink "Chanel" suit was a knock-off that her personal seamstress made. Jackie O's famous three strand pearls it turns out-not real-they were made from glass.
Some of my favorite places to shop for fakes are HSN and QVC. First of all, I hate shopping. The aggrivation of finding parking, finding the right size, rude sales girls, no cashiers and coupon this and that is just too stressful. That's why I shop the web, HSN and QVC.
I am esp. impressed with HSN's technibond. It's 14K clad over sterling silver. I like the golden yellown of their gold and the sturdiness of it. You don't have to baby it. Stick it on and go. Besides no one can tell if you're wearing 14K clad or 14K solid. For the jewelry snobs out there. Please ...aren't there bigger issues in life like why someone has forced Britney to get her tubes tied.
I also like QVC's diamonique esp the platinum clad over sterling silver. It's good quality for the money and for the woman who doesn't want to spend hundred on platinum then this is the way to go. I don't know about you but I don't feel as comfortable wearing expensive jewelry as I do wearing my fakes. For one thing, I'm a scatter brain. I'm the one that takes her ring off in a public bathroom to wash her hands and forgets to slip it back on. But if I'm wearing my diamonique and I lose it. I don't feel as bad. It's definitely the smart way to go for those who travel. You've seen those hidden videos on Dateline of airport personnel riffling through people's luggage. Do it. Travel and wear fakes and save your money for that Masterati automatic.
